HERE'S A SHORT STORY

Spot Pocket Opera Theatre is a non-profit organization (with charity status) that incorporated in 2017, after a pilot year of research community projects. The chamber western opera company has since become one of the major driving forces of opera outreach in Singapore, performing at the most unexpected places to introduce and attract new audiences to the concert hall and theatre.

"Our mission is to break barriers and create opportunities for new audiences to discover classical music through sincere music-making,

so as to enrich the lives of others"

The company started with a team of three singers and a pianist, but was quickly joined by talented, like-minded instrumentalists who shared the company's vision. This seeded the rapid development of the SPOT Music Ensemble, which now tours alongside the vocalists without a conductor... and even sang alongside the singers at the Esplanade Voices Festival (2019).
